THE QUB3 PROTOCOL

The QUB3 protocol is designed to ensure standardization, repeatability, and simplicity. With a few clear steps and the full integration of the my.QUB3 cloud platform, clinicians can obtain an objective evaluation of masticatory function in less than one minute.

To perform the test you need:
  • Q-GUM – two-colour sample for measuring masticatory function
  • QUB3 – device for sample digitization and analysis
Access to my.qub3

Open your browser and go to https://my.qub3.it/login; Create your personal account by entering the required information. Log in to access all platform features.

Registration and QUB3 connection

To connect QUB3 to a wireless network and access the MY.QUB3 cloud platform, follow these steps:

  1. Switch on the QUB3 device.
  2. From your computer or tablet, connect to the wireless network generated by the device, called ‘QUB3-WIFI’, using the password ‘qub3-wifi’.
  1. Open your browser and enter the address: http://my.qub3-wifi.
  2. Select the wireless network of the practice or facility you are using, enter the relevant password and confirm the connection.
  1. Once QUB3 is connected to the Internet, the symbolwifi
will appear on the QUB3 screen.
  1. Disconnect from the ‘QUB3-WIFi’ network and access the site from your browser: https://my.qub3.it/.
  1. Proceed with registration on the portal by entering the required data.
  2. Once the account has been created, log in with your personal credentials.
Sample preparation and chewing protocol

Turn on QUB3 and enter patient data on my.qub3

Moisten the two Q-GUM elements with warm water and press them together lightly.

Place the sample on the patient’s tongue using tweezers. Instruct the patient to perform 20 natural chewing cycles.

Retrieve the bolus, remove excess saliva with an absorbent pad. Insert it into the disposable pouch and place it in the compression area of QUB3. 

Sample analysis

Close QUB3 until “READY FOR THE ANALYSIS” appears.

Press the start button and wait for the result (< 60 seconds).

If using the MY.QUB3 portal, the result will appear directly in the patient’s record.
